Chin-Feng Chen, born in 1977, was a Taiwanese professional baseball player who made a brief mark in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 2002 and 2005. Primarily a position player, Chen's career spanned 19 games during which he demonstrated the challenges faced by players transitioning from international leagues to the MLB. He played the majority of his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and although his time in the majors was limited, he was one of the early players from Taiwan to reach the highest level of American baseball, paving the way for future Taiwanese talent.
Throughout his MLB tenure, Chen accumulated 2 hits and 2 RBIs, resulting in a batting average of .091. Despite his modest statistical performance, his presence in the league during the early 2000s coincided with a growing interest in baseball in Asia, particularly as more players from Japan and Taiwan began to make their mark in the sport. After his retirement on July 20, 2005, Chen's role as a pioneer for Taiwanese players in Major League Baseball remained a significant aspect of his legacy, highlighting the increasing globalization of the game during this era.
