How to read the ballpark directory

This directory covers 263 ballparks that have hosted major league games, listed alphabetically. Each card shows the park's name, its city and state, the country code, and the years it was in use; a card reading present is a park still in use, and a question mark means the source records no closing date. The earliest opening year on the list is 1871, for Agricultural Society Fair Grounds in Rockford; the latest is 2024, for Rickwood Field. Parks still in use include American Family Field, Angel Stadium, BB&T Ballpark at Bowman Field, and Busch Stadium III. Among closed parks, Tiger Stadium in Detroit has one of the longest spans, 1912 to 1999.

Parks outside the United States appear with their country code, for example AU, CA, JP, and MX. Several parks share a name, such as the Athletic Parks and Recreation Parks of the nineteenth century, so the city and years tell them apart. Search matches names, cities and states. A ballpark page adds the coordinates and elevation, the latest recorded capacity, surface and roof, the outfield dimensions and wall heights, the first game on record, and every team-season played there.
