Reporting a data error
The most useful report names the page (its web address), the figure that looks wrong and, if possible, where the correct figure can be found. A player page, for example, shows the same career line in its header, its career table and its season-by-season table, so saying which of those disagrees with your source helps narrow down where the problem started.
Most historical statistics on the site come from the Lahman Baseball Database and Retrosheet, and the current season from the MLB Stats API. When an error is in one of those sources, the fix usually has to be made there first, and the corrected figure reaches the site with the next data release. The data sources page lists which source feeds which part of the site.
Questions about methods
PIV and Pitcher PIV are Baseball Data Hub's own measures; the PIV methodology page sets out the formula and its limits. Leaderboard qualification rules, the treatment of Negro Leagues statistics and the meaning of the “Data updated” date are covered in the guides. If a question is not answered there, email it and include the page it concerns.
What to expect
Messages to admin@baseballdatahub.com are read by Baseball Data Hub. Confirmed data corrections are applied when the site is next rebuilt, and every page shows the date its data was last refreshed, currently September 25, 2026. The site has no user accounts, so there is nothing to log in to and no password to reset.
