MLB Era Translator
Take any all-time-great season and re-express it in a different era's run environment — 1184 cross-era stat projections. Rate stats are re-based to the target year's league averages (the OPS+/ERA+ idea); counting totals are shown as actually played. Every page includes a live slider to drop the season into any year in MLB history.
A model, not a prediction. This re-expresses rate stats against a target year's league run environment only. It does not account for competition depth, pitch velocity, modern arsenals, conditioning, or in-game adjustments — so a higher translated line means a higher-offense era, not that the player would actually perform better against modern pitching.

How to read an Era Translator page
The Era Translator holds 1,184 pages, each taking one great season and re-expressing it in the run environment of a different year. The hitters and pitchers are listed below with the year of the season used, and each links to that player's first translation. Each season is translated into a fixed set of target years chosen to span baseball's scoring eras, from the Deadball years to the modern strikeout-heavy game.
The method keeps the player's performance relative to the league of the original season constant and re-bases it on the target year's league averages, the same idea behind OPS+ and ERA+. Rate stats (batting average, on-base and slugging for hitters; ERA and WHIP for pitchers) are translated, while counting totals such as home runs and wins are shown exactly as they happened. A translated line that looks better means the target year was a higher-scoring league, not a prediction that the player would have performed better there.
Every page also carries a live slider that repeats the calculation for any season in the database. Pages link back to the player's full profile, where the real season sits in its table.
