Using the site

You may read, link to and quote pages on Baseball Data Hub for personal, research, journalistic and educational purposes. Automated copying of the site at a volume that interferes with its operation is not permitted; the data itself is available from the original sources listed on the data sources page.

Data licenses

Statistics drawn from the Lahman Baseball Database are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, which permits reuse with attribution and requires that derived datasets carry the same license. Game-level data comes from Retrosheet, which asks that its notice accompany any use: the information was obtained free of charge from and is copyrighted by Retrosheet. Current-season figures come from the MLB Stats API and remain subject to MLB's terms.

PIV and Pitcher PIV are Baseball Data Hub's own calculations; quoting a PIV figure should credit Baseball Data Hub.

Accuracy

The site is built with checks that compare the figures on a page against each other and against the player's profile, but the numbers are only as accurate as the sources behind them, and historical records, especially for the nineteenth century and the Negro Leagues, are incomplete. Everything is provided as is, without warranty, and should be checked against the sources before being relied on for anything important.

Links and advertising

Links to other websites are provided for reference; Baseball Data Hub does not control those sites. Advertising on the site is served by Google AdSense, as described in the privacy policy.
