December 1 in the record

25 baseball figures born on December 1 are listed, led by Larry Walker. The HOF tag marks Larry Walker and Walter Alston. Jimmy Wood, born in 1843, is the earliest birth listed, and Christian Encarnacion-Strand (1999) the latest. The December 1 list continues with Walter Alston (b. 1911, .000 avg, 0 HR) and George Foster (b. 1948, .274 avg, 348 HR). Not every December 1 birthday is American-born: the list also covers CAN, P.R., Taiwan, and D.R. Larry Walker (.313 avg, 383 HR) leads the December 1 hitters and Willie Mitchell (84-92, 2.88 ERA) the pitchers. The span for Javier Baez, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, and Jonathan Bowlan ends in a dash, meaning no last game is recorded. 21 baseball figures died on December 1; Gaylord Perry is listed first. Among those remembered, Gaylord Perry and Nellie Fox were Hall of Famers. The memorial list continues with Nellie Fox (1927–1975) and Tommy Henrich (1913–2009). The deaths span 1902, Fred Dunlap, to 2025, Tim Harkness. Names are ordered by a career-impact score that weighs Hall of Fame status and career totals, which is why Larry Walker is listed first.
