Pitcher of the Month

About the Pitcher of the Month list

Winners of the Pitcher of the Month are listed from 2025 back to 1975. Burt Hooton, Don Sutton, Tom Seaver, and Al Hrabosky head the list chronologically, in 1975. For 2025, the table lists Max Fried, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Kris Bubic, and Robbie Ray. The name that recurs most is Roger Clemens (1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2004). The list also repeats Greg Maddux (1988, 1993, 1995, and 1998), Johan Santana (2003, 2004, 2006, and 2008), and Randy Johnson (1990, 1997, 1998, and 1999). Roger Clemens won every year from 1990 through 1992. From 1979, the list carries one winner per league in most years. More Pitcher of the Month winners played for the Los Angeles Dodgers than for any other team in the table. Earlier recent winners were Corbin Burnes and Nick Martinez (2024), Tarik Skubal and Blake Snell (2023), Yu Darvish and Alek Manoah (2022), Max Fried and Frankie Montas (2021), and Chris Bassitt and Trevor Bauer (2020). The Pitcher of the Month was shared in 1981, 1990, 1993, and 1997. Entries in the Pitcher of the Month Notes column include September, May, June, July, August, April, and October. The Pitcher of the Month list is densest between 2010 and 2019. The first American League row is Rich Gossage in 1979. Burt Hooton (1975) heads the NL side of the list. Each name links to the player's profile, where the Pitcher of the Month also appears in the honors table.
